Love the Golf, interesting that it appears to have been painted that color when new, very distinctive, hope you will keep it! Also hope you can enjoy driving the car around for a while before you take it apart for refurbishing.

Thanks. I got to drive it down the street twice. now its parked and I'm waiting for my car lift to be delivered so I can start taking it apart. If I start driving it now, then I probably wont ever restore it.

Wow, looks pretty nice. That color sure jumps out at you. I got my 1970 2800cs in 2014, got it running and registered and drove it to the dock to get shipped to Austin where it's been in the garage since. I've just started taking it apart for rust repair. I would have liked to drive it, but it just wasn't in good enough shape. This is a common story. Some have gotten their car back up and running pretty quickly, others have taken years.
Good luck, looks like you have a good car to start with.
