while its cold and drippy here, i decided to fix a couple things that have been needling me about my engine bay - extra vacuum ports on intake, suspected vacuum leak, extra port on fuel rail, generally scruffy looking intakes, sticky throttle body, etc.

so did all that, plus had injectors rebuilt, new plugs, etc.

on intakes, they were tanked and then bead blasted with 'virgin' glass, came out bright and clean. i then clear-coated them with clear engine enameal in flat satin finish.

im happy with how it came out, and how silky smooth car now runs and idles.

first picture if before, next 3 are after. not huge difference, but it now has the look i was after.

Wow

"Hbchris clean" - high praise indeed, Thnks.

Re questions, car is 74, air cleaner is k&n cold air intake unit.

And Sfdon, this is all your fault as was started by your "flatly rejecting" my plugged fuel rail port with piece of hose and bolt :)
