I´m changing intake on my donor car (735 -83) to have the right appearance when the motor goes in to my E9.

I want to use the injectors from the 735 and they are bigger. Has anyone done this swap and can give me some hints on how to fix this. Is it just to drill the holes bigger, or does it take more engineering?

Also, i´m guessing that the temp house also needs to be replaced?

Regards from Sweden :)

post a pic of the fuel rail you are going to use.

I hear you want to use Vanagon injectors that will fit the clips on the later harness, but will fit the injectors on the older style rail.

I want to use the motronic injectors since the system is adapted for them, but if it is too much work to use them, i would like to know if the original l-jetronic injectors could be used.

Vanagon injectors or L-jet injectors w/adapters will only work w/the L-jet fuel rail.

This is what I understand. Again, SFDon is the premier source for this info.

Djet or early jetronic barbed injectors do not fit motronic fuel rails
Motronic injectors do not fit djet or early jetronic fuel rails
They will not mount up
You may buy an adapter to fit a motronic injector to a djet or early jetronic fuel rail.

Motronic intake manifolds are too ugly to talk about so we won’t go there.

Important!
Low impedance early ljet and djet injectors are unusable in a later motronic computer system without special resistors. Wrong impedance. Your car will die on the side of the road if you try this.

"You may buy an adapter to fit a motronic injector to a djet or early jetronic fuel rail."

I have googled like crazy, but i cannot find that. Any hints on where i can find that?

My other option could be to grind out the intake to make the motronic-injectors fit. Any thoughts on that?

As a heads up- most folks here just install new vanagon injectors and are done.
No adapters.

If i understand correctly, this is to fit the motronic injector to the fuel rail.
Is there an adapter to fit the injector to the aluminum piece?

? No adapter needed for injector to manifold.
Just swap pintle cap, o-ring From early injector.
Buy new pintle cap and orings and top adapter from fuel injector corporation
