Koni shocks?

Reviving this thread to see if someone has successfully recently found Koni shocks for our cars.

I have had Bilstein B6s front and back installed since 2014. Since installed (with stock springs) I have always felt that the rear seems a little too harsh 'on its way down' through a bump on the road, if that makes sense.

I'd like to try something else but I am unable to find anything by Koni when searching by car/model/year at some shock or specialist (Turner, etc.) websites.

Has anyone found Koni's recently?

Placing a couple reference pics here because I happen to have a couple sets out of cars. Let me know if you want any data off these.

Hono: My springs are stock
Thomas: Are the KYBs still available? If so I’d like to know the model/part number to see if I can find a set.

KG5521 are readily available in the US. I have not driven the car to voice an opinion on how they work.

I have a full set of Konis from an e9 that I bought a while back from a fellow e9 Forum member. I had intended to have them rebuilt, then offer them on this website as essentially new. I will probably not be doing that, as I'll be reducing my e9 stash.

If interested, I'll sell them for what I paid for them, plus shipping. I am away for 3 1/2 weeks, but could send pix after I return. If you have interest in pursuing this, please send me a private message (conversation) after 9/23.

My car has had KYB's in the rear since I got it. I don't know what's in the front but suspect the same. They ride like rocks and I'm totally onboard with the "kick your butt" comment attributed to the late Mr. Fowler. However, the ride on mine is may be only an anomaly.

Roads, actually, but sometimes it's hard to tell the difference.

I've driven with two and four wheels on both, but not using the CS. But the day ain't over yet.

I believe I bought the last set of e9 NOS Koni shocks that were in the US, and maybe world about 4 years ago. Classic Garage had them. I'd gotten that retailer as a recommendation from the Koni US facility as the only place that 'might' have them when I went searching. Replaced the Bilsteins on my car with those NOS Konis this past winter.

I don't think I can afford the "last set" in the world. ;)

Ground Control uses Koni inserts in their kits. You might inquire as to what they can get for you. The great guys at LaJolla Independant BMW recommended them to me and indicated that they have a good balance of street comfort and handling with their adjustable height coil-over suspension set that I was interested in.

BarryG that link redirects to the first page of this thread, can you post your intended link?

The Ground Control pages don't show much for the E9 and annoyingly (to me) refer to 2002s as "E10" and lump them with the E9s.

Koni’s are OK, KYB’s are marginal, and I’ve kicked myself whenever I’ve put anything other than Bilsteins in any of my cars.

I've a set of red rear Koni's from out of my CSL if anybody is hunting for a pair to re-condition.
Think the front ones were Beilstein's but have them kicking around as well.
