The VGS intake fits as far as I know only to E3 and E12, for E9 there is a space problem with the power brake unit i´ve been told ! But i´m not sure !

I can't read it either.

About VGS:

http://www.vgs-tuning.com/?p=about

Their website does not seem to give access to the whole product range.
They used to have a thick printed catalogue and they send a CD-ROM on request.

VGS has been making intakes for the E9 coupé since the early days of the 2800cs.
These intakes were used by GS Tuning and others.
I have seen them on Heidegger engines also.

The great advantage they offer is that their "S" shape allows you too keep the big break booster.

There are 40 and 45mm versions. You can always rework the 40 to fit 45 carbs.

Sorry I did not read Orangener's posting before sending mine.

On this picture it seems to be used in a coupé :

if you cant open it its probably because its on www.ebay.de. You can simply go there and then search the item number or do a search for 'bmw e9 luftsammler'. unless you understand german you wont be able to read the site but thats no problem since all of the formatting options are the same as the english site.

Item # is 190374980791

Orangener - It looks like the cover has an indentation to receive the brake booster.?.?

It looks like it could fit ! Therefore I wrote "I´m not sure" .

A club-colleague has a triple-Solex-system and asked me about my opinion about a VGS-airbox that was in Ebay a few weeks ago.

It had a different cover, as you can see at my attched pictures.

Our member "Tierfreund" sold such a intake manifold with triple Webers, he had in his E3. And he wrote that it only would fit in the E3.......

I see. Thanks for the clarification my friend!:) Seems like a reasonable (and probably more affordable) alternative to the Alpina setup - I think there's one of those on ebay.de right now as well.

Thanks for the responses. Had never heard of VGS.

Maybe you could use the manifolds in the E9, but not the airbox.
I have one somewhere. I will check if it fits in the next weeks, when I have more time.
