Hi!

After twenty or something years in the air-cooled scene - had few beetles and the hippie bus, I have switched to the dark side - the water-cooled gang! And I finally realized my childhood dream - to own a BMW E9. We are friends for less than a week, but I already felt in love. And also noticed that I have to save a bit to feed the appetite of the spare part producers community. Hope to undergo a serious restoration this winter and be able to be back on the road when the sun begins to shine. Here are a few pics:

It will be hard in this seaside climate. We have summer and then.... winter for 9 months. I guess some sharks are not so lucky.... On the other hand, I will definitely eliminate all the rust and look after her. So, maybe things ain't that bad

And think about a dehumidifier. Two springs ago in the humid, hot and sticky Philadelphia PA suburb where I live there was mold on my headliner, leather, wood. You name it. Ran the dehumidifier for a few days to make it Sahara like and the mold disappeared. Surprise to me, it is just as humid in the winter. There is a thread here about dehumidifiers.

One other thing to worry about. But the joy of ownerships triumphs!

Definitely get a dehumidifier if you can. There are lots of threads on here discussing what to get. Good luck!

and if you need any engine machining I can highly recommend Juris Ramba, Ramoto ltd in Ogre, especially good for cylinder head welding, lead free seats, valve work, sleeving, line boring etc. I send work there from the UK, there is a courier between Riga and the UK, one man one van, nothing gets lost!
