I’ve been storing these for nearly twenty years, and they should go to a good home.
Not perfect, but very nice. Kept cool and dry. They were properly cleaned and fed with Hidefood before being locked away and are still quite supple. Horsehair intact and nice. Chrome had been polished prior to storing and although dusty now, a small test patch shows they return to full luster...Guess I had much more time & energy in my thirties!
Was told by previous owner that the seats are the very rare BMW option code 69, Fine Corinthian Leather, that was painstakingly harvested from Ricardo Montalban’s private estate in Mexico City. I’m sure the proud new owner will spend countless nights sitting in them as Khan, chasing Capt. Kirk through the Mutara Nebula. This will undoubtedly increase the asking price.
Although looking like they’ve never seen a single booty, one rear seat has a tear over two pleats on bottom center, other rear has two splits and a missing section on the top right. There appears to be enough overlap around the edges and behind for a pro to use in repairing these flaws. See pictures for detail.
The fronts are much nicer. Still supportive, with no split seams or cracks. Some random scuffs that would buff out, and one small hole on the back of the driver’s side. Nice patina. Very nice chrome on the sides and back, and good solid unscathed headrests. Most wouldn’t have a problem using them as is for a no excuses (not concours) installation. Again, see pictures.
To keep the net nannies at bay, I’ll post an asking price of just under one million USD.
But will entertain offers around six hundred dollars plus shipping from 17011.
