Hi there, all. A good friend of mine has decided to part with his exceptionally nice 2000c, after 40 years of ownership. Car is located in Portland, Oregon, USA, and is available to show by appointment. Thanks for looking!

----------

If anyone here is looking for an exceptionally nice, 1967, NK, 2000c, here is your chance. My friend has decided to part ways with this gorgeous example, after 40 years of ownership.

1967, 2000c, automatic - same owner since 1978. Odometer reads just 27,400 original miles. This vehicle has an excellent pedigree - it is a six time concours winner at Forest Grove Concours de Elegance.

Chamonix exterior over Marine Blue interior. Body and paint are in excellent condition. Car was resprayed in the late 1970s, as the paint was faded. This was a high end job. All the bumpers, trim, etc, are original and unrestored, and in excellent condition. This car has zero rust and has never been in a collision. A very true, honest, "survivor" car.

Additionally, the interior is in excellent condition. Front seats have been reupholstered, in original vinyl, by Bright Auto Upholstery, of Portland, Oregon. The original Wilton wool carpets are in great shape. The wooden dashboard inserts were refinished by the owner and they look fantastic - reportedly, over 100 hours was invested to bring them back to original condition.

The cylinder head was replaced in 1980, with a new unit, from the dealer, after the engine was severely overheated, by the first owner. Engine is stock (down to the single barrel carburetor) and runs great. New battery and oil change as of May, 2018. Automatic transmission was rebuilt by Automatic Transmission Services in the early 2000s - estimated 1000 miles on vehicle since it was installed.

This is arguably the nicest original 2000c in the country, but most definitely the nicest one in the region. All papers from original sale at Herzog are present, as well as a photocopy of the original title, etc. This is a very well sorted car, with a great history and pedigree, that doesn't really need much to be a show winner again.

My good friend is getting older and has decided to downsize his collection. We are motivated to find this car the proper, new home it deserves.

Price is $50,000 USD.

Definitely worth all that money. I'm sure someone would volunteer to take it to Monterey in August or chaperone it for him, if he can hold out another month. He's taken such great care of that thing for so long, shame if it goes too cheaply.

Monterey might be the right place for this example. Perhaps, I will even bring it down myself.

I don't really want to deal with the hassle of the auction, being that it isn't my car; it would just be a complicated deal. BAT is another story, as I had a horrid experience there and simply would never use them again.

I appreciate all the nice words from you folks. Hopefully, this car will find a new home, sooner than later!!!

Closest comp is this one being sold by a dealer in Europe:

https://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/...searchId=2dbe32d1-4a2a-3661-110c-ceb01e4b19c6

Asking 79k euro.

For better or worse, this car may need the type of exposure BaT will provide in order to find the right buyer.

Can’t really consider this a comp as it’s been for sale forever though. The 2000 coupes haven’t gotten the love they deserve and being a CA vs. a CS will also keep its price a bit lower. The low mileage is phenomenal and I would love to have one in my garage, this one needs a special buyer who values its provenance.

Paint on this car hasn't even been cut and polished (also in need of wet sanding). I'm not impressed but maybe it's just a bad photo.

Certainly not the same quality as the car offered here. It's the only 2000CA I could find that was not priced in the sub 20k euro range.

Bump. Had quite a few nibbles, but no bites, so far. I will bump this periodically, just to keep it fresh. Never too early to buy yourself a very nice Xmas present :)
