front door rubber piece

there is a little rubber piece on the front part of the door trim
it's #9 in the illustration. parts been discontinued. does anyone know where
i can find it, or do i need to salvage the old one?

There´s a guy in Germany called Jacob Griessen who has them for sale.
I am in Sweden at the moment and don´t have his e-mail available.
He sometimes sells parts on Ebay.de such as rear lamps and front lamp holders recently (front blinkers as well a while ago). Send me a PM and I will get you his e-mail after April 19th.

I have bought several sets from him. Cheap postage to the US.
You glue them onto the chrome liner and apply some silicone on the inside (against the vent window frame) so that it slides gently into place when you mount the chrome liner on the door.
Begin at the front, and push it into place. I find that it´s easier to have the door open at 45 deg when doing the front bit, but close the door when you heave onto the rear end (to save the hinges&heavy door. Mount new securing clips too.

the securing clips are they little disk shaped things?

3/4" long. U-shaped with teeth to secure in both directions. Blackish and easily available at BMW, W&N etc.

I got mine from Carl Nelson. EZ install. Gently remove the chrome bit. Self explanatory from there.

i voted to leave the piece alone since it was still in good shape and rather sell the new one i have.
