Hi guys,

Would appreciate some input in the following.

Only yesterday I was informed that my front door armrest connections are incorrect and probably from an E3

So now I'm looking for the correct ones and here are my questions:

What would be the correct colour, black or blue, my armrests are blue?

How exactly does the correct set-up looks?

Is there a difference between pre and post '73 armrest connections?

And finally does anybody has the correct parts to put this right again or know where to get them?

Many thanks in advance.

KR
Philippe

Hi Philippe,
These are exactly what you need. Blue armrests need blue ‘caps’.
What’s still missing is a plastic/ rubberized pice that sits between the blue cap and the wood. I doubt that’s available anymore but any one parting a car will/ should have those. They are genrally in the cap color (if I recall), either way, Black would be good for under the blue cap. My parts guy is back in 10 days, Incase you haven’t found them by then.
I’ve also added a pair of correct blue armrests. The E9 and E3 are the same but others here will correct me if I’m wrong.
Regards
Keshav
Ps. Since all the above parts are from the same vendor, he might even have the hard rubber piece for the cap. Worth asking.....in the pics below, you can ‘see’ that piece between the wood and the blue cap.

The rosette is for the E3, not for us. All you need are the blue caps and the chrome covers. The plastic piece you’ll have to look for from some one parting a car which has the contour of the cap thus hardly visible. Ask our friend Marcos or any one parting out a car.

Ok big thanks Keshav, I know what I need.

If anybody here has these pieces on offer please let me know. Would prefer buying from somebody on the Forum.

The large chrome tube behind the armrest was used on all e9s. The upper plastic mounts can be found in many colors on German eBay, the chrome caps are harder to find. And Stan’s rubber base for the upper mount is perfect.
