My car is out at a shop, I went out and fit the parts, so now I feel foolish with the question

Fit of wood instrument support to upper vinyl hood?
See attached photos
The vinyl hood has impressions that would indicate the wood part would fit there
But that would leave a gap along the upper edge which I am sure is not correct
Can someone tell me the dimension from from the upper, forward, center edge, of the hood to the upper center of the wood part?

I think the mark on the hood you refer to is the back side of the wood, it's darker, that entire "dark" area is exposed. Me thinks

Hi Peter, thanks
I have figured out what is going on
I am just running into frustration problems trying to fit a Just Dashes dash, and the dash assembly in general!

Mark....you have to fit the instrument brow to the dash top before you try to fit the timber instrument cluster.(as in photo) It should fit snug.
