Hi All,

After 5 years of a fantastic ownership experience I have decided to sell my Coupe. I have decided on selling in an auction format and I'm hoping that the coupe ends up in the hands of another E9 member. I've listed the selling description below and I've also attached a few photos, but I will list 40-50 photos on ebay tomorrow because most of the photos like the engine bay need to be compressed down to a smaller file size. The car is located in Philadelphia...

1973 BMW 3.0 CSi in unique metallic Montreal Blue. This sunroof, Alpina accessorized, aircon car has all of the right upgrades from all of the right specialists. The car was converted from a USA spec CS model to the current CSi model with a 3.3L engine mated to a Getrag 5 speed transmission from an E23. All work was done at Carl Nelson's La Jolla Independent which many consider to be the best in the country. The engine starts on the first time with no smoke or oil issues. This car is very fast and handles amazingly well due to a completely rebuilt suspension. The car stops on a dime with completely rebuilt front and rear brakes. The entire undercarriage is extremely dry as it was meticulously repaired and undercoated with POR-15. The car has minor 1” paint bubbles around the bottom passenger door and there is also paint buildup at the very tip of the trunk edge which I've included in photos.

There was an extensive mechanical build sheet of work done when I first acquired the car which are all listed in the receipts.

This car was originally Fjord Blue but was resprayed before my ownership to Montreal Blue which was a color used by BMW in the 90's. It is a rich metallic color that is fantastic for this body style and looks closest to a metallic navy blue when seen in bright light. There are minor flaws and overspray--most of which can only be seen up close. I have restored virtually the entire interior to excellent condition: The wood was replaced and restored to a good as new deep French walnut finish by Heritage Woodworks in North Carolina. The seats were restored to as new condition with all of the right padding and over $3K worth of leather. There is new leather throughout the interior including the entire backside of the seats and the panel below the back window. I bought a mint condition Blaupunkt Blue-Dot radio (not working) and I've also installed an alternate high performance stereo system in the glove box. This is a sunroof car (converted to electric by a previous owner) and it works very well. The USA side markers were recently removed (the drill holes are still visible so I can have them put back on if the winning bidder likes) and I have added the working back fog light which is a great looking feature of the Euro spec. cars. There is an excellent condition Alpina wood steering wheel paired with an Alpina wood shift knob. The roof liner was relined in black by a previous owner and I've actually preferred it to the white because it won't yellow over time. The dash is absolutely perfect--no cracks anywhere. All gauges are perfect. Air conditioning is installed but not charged. The chrome is all in good shape with a slight bend in the front bumper (see photo). The bright work is very good but there are some scratches to the chrome in certain areas. The seals are all in good condition with no replacements needed. The entire trunk lining was recently restored but the tool kit “clamshell” cracked when the 39 year old screws were removed so it is not able to be refitted into the trunk. I have the complete set of brand new, never opened Heyco tools but the screw drivers are green and not red. The car has four new tires and a new spare tire and all four rims are in excellent condition.

I have owned the car for 5 years and I have all receipts to the work done. I have additional receipts for the car going back to the previous owner's purchase in1999. The mileage was at 80K when odometer stopped a year ago. I'm sure the actual mileage is higher. I don't want to waste anyone's time, especially my own, so I want the potential winning bidder to be as informed as possible before winning the bid. I have nearly 50K invested in this car and what you are essentially bidding on is a very dry car in a unique color with the right accessories and performance upgrades.

I have enjoyed this car for many years and I have organized and taken this car on many long windy road rallies and it is a purely exhilarating, fast, nimble, and fun car to drive! Good luck bidding!

This coupe lives not far from me. I have been at shows and driven in rallies with it. It is everything the owners says it is, and someone is going to get a great coupe. I would be more than happy to eyeball it for anyone who is interested.
