Stops the hood supports rubbing on the fender.
Aaaah. I would've never figured that out. I guess they changed the design later? I don't think they're on the later models, not sure.

EDIT: I guess they are on the later models now that I look closer.

If you get the hood supports adjusted just right you can keep them from hitting the rubber stops and wearing a hole in them. Takes a bit of fiddling though.

Although the hood is shown properly raised and supported, but I know exactly what the yellow broom handle is for...
Right hand taking the photo, left had holding the hood open. I'll have to figure out the torsion bar when I put it back together.
