I think these are different wheels from the advert. Spokes on the very early ones are longer and distance from rim to spoke is smaller due to this fact. I think the wheels from GK-E30-M3 are the same like in the advert.

There are some evolution stages of these wheels.

The wheels displayed by IMSA-CSL are XXX-rare.
They belong to the very first run of Mahle wheels, made during spring and summer of 1973.

Compared to later production, their shape is different :
- the outer part of the rim is wider;
- the outer triangles of the web are a bit larger;
- there is a little ”platform” where the hole for the valve is drilled.

Over many years I have seen only 5 surviving sets of these wheels.

I think that @Yannick posted this in @IMSA-CSL 's FS thread by mistake...

Sake of good order and to be accurate : the correct 7x14 wheels as proposed by BMW Motorsport GmbH for the CSL
were ( and were stamped ) BMW MAHLE ( not BBS MAHLE ) wheels.

BMW Motorsport GmbH part # 33 11 2 200 529 ... Ironically, there was a print mistake in all the BMW Motorsport
GmbH documents ( easy to check if some of you have the BMW Motorsport GmbH ringbinder ) :D

BMW dealers were informed afterwards by an internal memo that correct wheel part # was 36 11 2 200 529

These wheels came on my E9 when I purchased the car. They look very similar to the above CSL wheels. No markings except a date stamp on the back. They appear to originally have been gold. What are they?

Bumping this for a friend.

Note the five point star of solid spokes in the image that @IMSA-CSL posted. CSL wheels had this along with other characteristics mentioned above.

A question for the experts... Are Mahle rims more valuable if stamped with BMW vs. not stamped with BMW?

I have a set of these that I would like to sell. Lips are polished so markings are gone. My wheels have the correct 9.3 off set for the CSL, not the 11 off set that you see on most of them. My Series Two Batmobile came with these originally from the factory. Very cool period correct wheels for those who want to run 14 inch wheels on there Coupes. PM me if interested.
