I'm trying to figure out the date of manufacture of my Bav but Realoem doesn't recognize the serial number in their search feature.
I have Bav # 3101856. Any help out there?

To get the exact information, try sending an email to:

[email protected]

They will give you the exact date of manufacturing and the original colour. For US-deliveries it will most likely say delivered be MH in NY. For Euro deliveries it will list the actual dealer as well. Good luck!

Cheers

Your serial # doesn't show-up on the Senior Six Website:

http://www.bmw-e3-club.de/e3bmw/fahrgestellnummer.html

Does the VIN on the engine compartment match that on the steering compartment, or could it be so warn that a number might be misread?

No misreading, numbers are very clear and matching.

From your link -

3.0 S bavaria - 7 / 1971 - 7 / 1973 - 3 100 001 - 3 106 942

My number should be in there somewhere.
