A weird one, E9 rally car FS

For those of us in New England, this is ice racing season and this car might be perfect for that use. It might also be a good hill climb car (Mounts Rquinox, Washington, pikes peak etc).

Nice ! about the same specs as my "regularity" rallycar. They even have the oil pressure sender mounted the same way i did.

I don't have 245HP and 300NM... a bit less. Perhaps they have high compression pistons , mine are OEM.

There is a pic of them standing on the roof of the car (made me cringe). But I assume the whole car is stuffed with cage tubes that are tied into the front/rear shock towers roof, etc. Maybe it’s another good way to resurrect a rusty E9.

And in EX a BMW M1 took first. I can’t imagine how wealthy you need to be to put an M1 at risk in this event.

there are indeed cage tubes under the roof.... but one can still damage the plate i think.... enthousiasme on the finish ?

In the late 80's a BMW M6 was second or so in it's class. Run by Rug Cunningham who owned a BMW dealership in CA.
There is a video of them racing the car. It's fun to watch. The driver commentary is fun.

This picture you show DP is the BMW factory CSL Rally car above on the Olympia Rally in 1972 driven by Rauno Aaltonen with John Davenport navigating. It was the biggest German Rally of that year, over five days and 3,371 kilometers, from Kiel to Munich, in celebration of the 1972 Munich Olympics.

Also says e36 rack...e36 is front steer, how did they do it, use RHD rack upside down?? And e36 diff, why not just use e28 subframe and e28/24/30 diff...e36 mounting and trailing arms completely different. Wondering if this is a CS shell on an e36 floorpan, I know of someone doing that right now...
