265/5 CR - Project Update

Just got back from my first Saturday morning run down to Pacifica from SF after putting a close ratio transmission in my E9.

Verdict: this is just what the doctor ordered. The S38 now stays in its power band pretty much all the time, and the utility of having an OD gear that allows 125mph+ cruising is, uh, somewhat limited in the US. I expect that results would be similar if not better/more dramatic for an M30.

My E9 has a 265/5 behind a 3.3liter. I bought it a week ago today and have driven it almost 500 miles. The will cruise easy at 90mph on the highway.

I did the reverse of you. Today I pulled an S38 from a 88' M5 with the plan to put it in the E9. I just finished posting a few questions, maybe you can help with the questions.
