Rocker panel moldings mounted with custom mounts since I have read that plastic clips are troubling. Would love to have new moldings but couldn’t find them so I bought best used ones I could find.

Wiper bracket is painted back to black since I initially had it painted in white.

81043414_805556089873695_6645214370064236544_n.jpg

Front CSL air dam is painted

79664222_986414691712871_2554287505574723584_n.jpg

Tank was cleaned from inside using Tank Cure and I like the result. Tank was also painted from outside.

79706894_480506942582628_4113385029436964864_n.jpg

Both re-chromed bumpers were assembled. Front with all new rubber parts and custom rails/guides for rubber. For rear I will install bumper from 2000CS I like it more (kept original one in case I ever change my mind).

80411153_2583135791795966_2506166477241974784_n.jpg

Re-chromed quarter windows were assembled and I must tell installing new rubber is pain in the ass.

80115365_2387169388166585_1404149105415946240_n.jpg80683917_598541144232411_2782671644215214080_n.jpg79776471_448601342752968_7728779965386194944_n.jpg

Re-chromed trim of headlight grill was installed also tough work since old plastic is fragile. Really happy with the result since plastic was broken all around and trim was chipped.

OK, so I'm really not trying to be a jerk here but you are doing such a nice job I have to point out some silly little things- and if I'm wrong on any of them I'm sure people will correct me :) .

Wiper bracket should be semi-gloss black (same finish as on the metal fan cover when you put that on) The connecting arm (both long and short) should be galvanized steel colored- you can paint it that color or strip off the black and clean it up and clear coat it so it does not rust. The bolts need to be cleaned up so there is no black paint on them and it looks like there is a plate missing. (My picture is not completely correct- but gives you the idea I think), and then here is a really silly thing. Where the hood release cable comes out there is a black plastic insert and there is a little hole in the steel tube where you can see the plastic sleeve. People mask off the end of the sleeve but the black plastic should be seen through the hole, not the white paint; well I hope I've not come across as too much of a nit-picker, but like I said- you're doing an awesome job- might as well go all the way

Damn I will make it right the third time :)
When i got the car everything was in black painted with brush - than repainted nice but in white now it is black again :).
I also have metal fan cover in same black finish.

Thanks I appreciate feedback!

Ha, I have no idea why I put those stickers where they are but the very last thing I'll do after I fix all the little bits Chris is get a proper guide with your assistance if you don't mind:)

I'm certain there are many more quirks under the hood of my little coupe, ugh

Weekend was productive I installed taillights and plate filler – it looks so nice it will be a shame to cover it with license plate.

Glued back re-chromed trim on front door glasses.

82786497_2813832178683634_6766777273279315968_n.jpg

Installed new side mirrors – I changed position since I had opportunity to weld original holes. And passenger side mirror wasn’t there before.
81939368_2860609797335709_4102491231437717504_n.jpg81977861_3016981088369405_4252965505142358016_n.jpg

Test fitted waist belt trim –it fits nice but I already removed it. I had it polished but I found guy who will re-chrome it for me.
Also test fitted rear wheel for fender clearance and I realize my custom make exhaust pipe is suspiciously close to rear tire – will have to make modification.

Mounted C pillar emblems – not happy with color of new production but what can I do.

New roof trim was fitted, pretty delicate thing this trim you can’t hit or bent a bit to make it fit since everything is seen on the surface

Update:

Waist belt trim is finally mounted. I wanted to have them re-chromed but I was turned down since they didn’t have tubs so big to fit aluminum trim. So I had it polished again and a thin layer of lack applied – quite happy with result.

Fender grill installed. Sadly only on one side since I screwed position of sticker on other side – have to re-order sticker and try again

Anyone knows where to buy these clips for hose that come on hood support or part number?

@RTHLSS1 If it is the ear shaped seals, I have them. $40.00 a set plus shipping.

Your work looks great! I wonder if anyone knows exactly how many pieces (outside the engine bay) it takes to make an e9?

I found 1 piece of rubber in my parts boxes...will assemble one side and see if I can reproduce rubber for other side if not I will let you know. How long does shipping takes to Europe?

It surely has A LOT of pieces and every one shows to be complicated to fit properly but at the end all this details makes e9 such a beautiful designed car.
Hands down to everyone who restores this car to last bolt… Body is complicated enough due to all the rust problems but putting all together is also difficult. I found some body repair companies in Europe who would completely restore body but I haven’t found 1 company who take care of all the parts than (chroming, finding new parts, suspension, engine…) so basically you end up with “new” body that you can’t trust to someone who hasn’t build e9 before.

I am satisfied how my E9 will end up now when I look back I would do some things differently but I got experiences for next car possibly e10.

The package would be pretty small so maybe a week or two before it arrived
That is my guess

Thanks for info Stan. Still didn’t find it for other side but I also found them at W&N - in chrome. I might consider ordering missing piece there (and paint it black) since I have to order some parts anyway.
