Almost looks like the car was jacked up, wheels put on, and then lowered and observed. The suspension ends up "pidgeon-toed" until you roll the car a bit.
Found the Ignition Lock Housing MTC1101 on Amazon for (can you believe it?) $5. I'm going to reuse my ignition switch for now, as it seems just fine, and is the most expensive part to replace. Now I can switch to an E12 tumbler and key. I'll update the thread with how it goes.
I also have a...
Not necessarily, but I forgot to mention that it does have to fit a European delivery car (Mine was originally delivered in Italy). This site suggests that maybe some ignition parts are not exchangeable between US and Euro cars:

I took the family to a BMW meet in Nevada this weekend in the 3.0cs. During the trip, the ignition became harder and harder to turn. The last time I started the car to return home, I had to turn the key with pliers to get the car to start. I removed the entire ignition lock cylinder tonight and...
I believe it is this one:

Just fine. Semi-metallic pads and higher-temp fluid are musts. I made the mistake of running organic pads on my '72 2002 at Laguna Seca once. Put them on brand new at the beginning of the day. Totally gone by the end of the day. I have no trouble at Thunderhill and Laguna Seca with semi-metallic...
Yep. That's why the title of the thread says "track day". ;) This video is from later in the day when most people had left. It allowed to get some good clean laps in.
Stock weight, no lightening. I've got a Getrag 265 5-speed from an '85 5-series, although it doesn't matter on this track, since I never get into 5th gear.
I thought you all might enjoy this
I've driven this track several times over the last 12 years. Early on in a lightly modified Volvo 1800S, and for the past several years in the e9, and I've settled in on a pretty consistent speed. In the Volvo I was getting around the track in 2:37, and in...
Thanks, Alonzo! Both of my stalks use a white connector. Here are some images:

My '72 3.0cs has the turn signal stalk on the right side of the steering wheel. It works, but often must be pressed a bit further (and held there) in order to make contact and activate the turn signals. I suppose it may be repairable if I take it apart.
Also, a friend (after apparently...
This is a followup to my previous video from Thunderhill Raceway. Laguna Seca has pretty strict sound restrictions (90db at 50ft), so I was a little afraid to make the trip, but there were no issues. Here are two clean laps of this wonderful track. BTW... that's a 911 Turbo I catch up to part...
The second 911 was actually my friend's. He's been coming out to track days with me for the past year. The last part of that last lap was under a checkered flag, so we were actually heading to the exit. That said... if I had posted the entire video of this session, I actually lapped him :)...
Agreed. I'm probably a bit timid to push the car much further. So far, in about ten years of doing track days, I have only put two wheels off once. There is definitely more room to get faster, but I am content to just drive quickly and have fun.
