Finishing School for a Fjord 3.0 CS / 100 projects to improve a Coupe / Countdown

I have hand washed parts in the kitchen sink & run others through the dishwasher which is a home autoclave. The BMW parts I put in there are generally, cleaner than the dishes & few utensils. For epoxy, I use West System 105 with 205 Fast Hardener. There’s also 206 Slow Hardener. We have built...

1971 Euro CSi on BaT--yes another one!

With any auction be it BaT, Bonhams, Gooding, RM Sotheby's, Barrett-Jackson, Broad Arrow, Articurial or any auction for any E9 from 2800CS to 3.0CSLs including Tribute & Pedigreed Factory Race CSLs. As one who has 2 good friends who have been egregiously misled by a nefariously "restored" CS...

Present-day values of German classic sports cars

I fortunately was born into a car collecting family. In 1955ish my grandparents, who lived in Darien Connecticut, bought a Black 1919 Dodge Touring car & a 14 year old White 1934 Packard Super 8 Convertible Coupe Roadster with a single rear mounted spare. My mom drove the Packard to Darien High...

    Moda Miami?

Superbirds are pretty neat @BMW Pete has an Orange one his daughter is allowed to choose which car she’s driven in for the first day of school, it’s usually the Superbird. The Blue Black Duesenberg Speedster Won Best of Show at Pebble Beach last year. Few ever drive Ferrari F40s, nice to see...

    Moda Miami?

Thank you @DWMBMW! Think that Colorado License Plate Polaris CSL was the one at the Ultimate Driving Museum for the History of M Exhibit. @Dirk's 1937 328 is in good company with the Bentley Vanden Plas Speed Six. The 1933 Cadillac with the one-off French Delahaye inspired coachwork, saw it at...

    Steering wheel shimmy when braking

Either brake rotors as others mentioned or front thrust bushings or worn out. Those are the bushings behind the big washers visible just under the front valance with the castellated nut & cotter pin. When they are worn out they exhibit the similar traits as warped front rotors.

    Moda Miami?

I'm sure @Dirk, @DWMBMW & @Drew Gregg will post photos soon. All the BMW E30 M3s did quite well At Gooding the Grey 1957 503 Series 1 Coupe was no sale at $180K & Broad Arrow the White 507 was a no sale at $2 Million. The RM Sotheby's Baikal/Black CS sold for $84K.

Finishing School for a Fjord 3.0 CS / 100 projects to improve a Coupe / Countdown

If I understand this correctly, the W-N "Chrome" grills are most likely chromed black plastic & not chromed pot metal or anodized aluminum. Similar the front seat head rest insert bezels Chromed Plastic on E9s & up to 1973 2002s? @Stan, maybe your source who makes the Pop-Up-Sunroof-Deflector...

    Euro 1974 BMW 3.0CSi 4-Speed

Norm Walters had bought & imported a Bristol 1968 Neue Klasse 1800Ti from France & wasn't able to register it in CA. I wanted to buy it, it still came to the Northeast purchased by a gentleman in Vermont.

    Euro 1974 BMW 3.0CSi 4-Speed

dmv.ca.gov answers every question. Wholly explains why this CS is registered to an LLC in Montana. It is widely known many register their collector cars in Montana, Vermont or Maine & a few other states to skirt by overly harsh or clearly impossible registration restrictions in CA. Not revealing...

    Trapezoid mirrors...correct position

While a Trapezoid mirror is correct for your 2800 CS. I replaced my Trapezoid mirror for a Flag mirror for a wider range of vision. The correct driver side view mirror placement for a European Spec CS Coupe is 3mm away from the door trim with mirror base even with the vent window trim.

New Owner - 2800cs S52 in New Hope, PA

Will have to check & see if that plate is available in PA. New Hope is the fairer side of PA with the lovely stone houses & other homes nestled in amongst trees surrounded by Deer fences & driveway gates. Always enjoy that side of the state. As others have mentioned Steve O'Neill lives there...

something is very fishy down in Florida / CS "i'' on BaT now

This is my 1973 3.0 CSi VIN plate from the PPI photos back in May 2011. I seriously doubt the Polaris BaT CSi was repainted with finely pulverized fish scales to create the 'metallic' paint. Fish scale paints are prohibitively expensive now as, I understand, from BMW Classic when we were there...
