In tank fuel pump conversion - part number for pickup

I’ll have to reconsider whether I can use the one I have (16141179415 from ‘84 318i ) using rubber hose instead of pipe extension

In tank fuel pump conversion - part number for pickup

I need to check the right part number for the fuel pick up for converting to the fully in tank fuel pump. I ordered the wrong one initially, with one of the two hard fuel lines smaller than the other. There are several identical looking part numbers across the years of the E30, but from other...

Rear shock install - correct bushing compression

I should have looked more carefully perhaps - I bought the bushings from Rogerstii and assumed (as I'd read in another post) that the sleeves were attached inside though slightly shorter hence I did not see them flush with the top/bottom. Thanks for pointing this out, just called Rogerstii and...

    Brake pad experience... revisited

Folks, Thought I'd just report back after 1,000 or so miles on the EBC Greenstuff pads. Install was perfect, no issues. Brakes are quiet and progressive, no squeaks whatsoever. Brake dust is a little better than stock, easy to clean off. All my driving has been around town or highway, so can't...

Rear shock install - correct bushing compression

Have I got this right? I put a backing washer above the plate (figured it couldn't hurt) which is compressing the factory/OE bushing. Since there's no bottoming out I figure it's a 'feel' thing in terms of how much compression/deformation I should end up with? On the underside of the tower I...

HD or Sport dampers for stock suspension

Simple question: which dampers will give a smoother, stock-like ride on an otherwise stock suspension configuration (only modification is the front lifting spacers have been removed). It seems the OE dampers have few if any proponents due to cost and durability. So seems a choice between the...

    Brake pad experience... revisited

Spoke too soon. IRP just called to say the pads are back ordered, no ETA. Apologies for getting hopes up. I'll try the EBC Greenstuff pads and report back.

    Brake pad experience... revisited

Saw the same thing, when I tried to order it put them on the wish list. So I called and they got back to me saying they were back in stock at the San Diego warehouse. They have updated the site to allow you to order them online.

    Brake pad experience... revisited

Just wanted to close the loop on this one. The PBR/Axxis are back in stock at Import Replacement Parts (ImportRP.com). Takes a bit of cross referencing to get the right pads. I went with the Tii pads for the front (45-0082ED) 77 630 CSi for the rear (45-0164ED/1) Hope they'll work, will...

    Brake pad experience... revisited

Are the EBC compatible with stock calipers? If the 2753/2 are front (website says they fit a 2002Tii so should fit the E9 though they say it doesn't), what have you found for the rear?

    Brake pad experience... revisited

Textar is the OE. Axxis running scarce on eBay at the moment.

    Brake pad experience... revisited

I'm stumped after looking for recommendations, reviews or ratings across every platform I can find. -Axxis/PBR/Repco: Unavailable -Porterfield: Big $$ -Textar: Shying away from the OE because I see lots of comments that they throw a bunch of dust -Jurid/Pagid/ATE: Dusty from the what little...

    Brake pad experience... revisited

Sounds like a great company serving a performance market, priced accordingly ($150 fr+rr). May be overkill for my purposes.

    Brake pad experience... revisited

Having searched the archives, PBR (Repco/Axxis) Deluxe seemed to be the go-to brake pad for low dust and good performance ... however now unavailable. So time to check in again with the community for experience, recommendations, and sources. I've seen Centric, ATE, Raybestos, Bosch, Wagner...

    A/C Blower Switch Rebuild

Fantastic post, thank you. Last three pics didn't show up for me, but I got enough and by cross referencing the pics in Alan's post to fill in the gaps. Basic question, is there an 'easy' way to get the switch out that doesn't involve major disassembly of the center console?

    Heating/ventilation blower relay ground issue

(sfdon, apologies in advance as I will quickly demonstrate my lack of electrical troubleshooting skills...) The black wire is hot at all times, regardless of the A/C blower switch position ON or OFF. Is that what you meant ?

    Heating/ventilation blower relay ground issue

Hmm, so which is more likely ... 1) bad AC switch (note that it no longer provides variable fan speed, but that's been the case for years without affecting HV blower), 2) bad relay, 3) open circuit due to missing AC components, 4) something else?

    Heating/ventilation blower relay ground issue

So right now with the brown wire disconnected both blowers (AC and HV) work at the same time. Maybe that's the function of the relay, to isolate the two. With the brown wire connected correctly and the AC blower switched off, the HB blower does not work. But in the configuration the AC blower...
