    Flag or trap mirrors

Flag on mine I found out from BMW that my early '74 3.0csi (11/73 build date, the 36th '74 built #4340036) was originally delivered to a dealer in Milan Italy. Mine has a single Flag style mirror installed in the Euro 'more forward' mounting position. No passenger side mirror and I've kept it...

    door brake

synthetic grease I haven't had any noise problems with the ones on my car. I lubed mine with Mobil-1 red synthetic grease before I installed them. I don't care much for the white lithium grease because it seems to harden up as it ages. I've been using modified Mercedes door brakes on both of...

    Which Brake Master Cylinder?

23.81mm it is I now realize that my question was a silly one. I was looking more carefully at my current brake master cylinder and there's a 23 clearly cast into the side of it. So, I'll go with the 23.81mm model. Mesa Performance steered me in the right direction. 34-31-1-120-832 (23.81...

    Which Brake Master Cylinder?

I need to replace the brake master cylinder on my '74 3.0 csi #4340036. It looks like I have two options to choose from: 34-31-1-120-479 (22.2 mm bore) OR 34-31-1-120-832 (23.81 mm bore) Is there any advantage to using one over the other? Are there any other options available...

    Instructions: Trigger Points for fi

Trigger points I replaced my injection points by (marking and then) pulling the distributor and then unscrewing the two screws that hold in the trigger points (denture) in place. Then I cleaned up the old grease off the cam that drives the points, added a little bit of new Bosch distributor...

WTB: Petri 38cm sport steering wheel

38cm Petri Sport Steering Wheel I prefer the 38cm Petri in my tiis over the 35cm ones. Sorry none for sale though. If you find one, make sure it has the correct hub with the pin for the horn contact for a 2002 instead of the ring type horn contact that the E9 Petri wheel hubs have. John

Recommendation for Motive Products Brake Bleeder

Motive Bleeder I used to not fill the tank on my Motive bleeder but eventually switched over to filling the tank with brake fluid. I just make sure that I have lots of denatured alcohol to clean it all up when I'm done.

40cm Petri on ebay: No Reserve

40 cm Petri Now I don't feel so bad. I paid $1000 for a NOS 40cm Petri wheel with hub and Petri horn button a couple of years ago. At the time, I thought I was kind of crazy.

    CSi coil confusion.

Bosch Coil The later model csi ('74 and up) have a 0.9 ohm resistor wire instead of the ceramic ballast resistor (it looks like clear/yellowed speaker wire). The stock coil is the one that requires a 0.9 ohm resistor. The BMW part number of that Bosch coil is: 12-13-1-357-294. They are often...
