I don't know what is the name of this piece. Probably it is a window part.

Is there a new one available somewhere? Looks like mine is not in usable shape.

Also does anyone know what the original metal track is made of? ie the metal strrip the 'felt like material' attaches to? Are they aluminium, stainless steel, galvanised steel or just plain low quality steel? (that will rust out due to water that runs down the windows when it rains).

I can't figure out if my rear window felts have just become dirty and full of crud over the years, or could I have a rust problem bubbling away under the felt material.

The rear window felts are mild steel, a wire with flag shaped metal tabs attached to achieve the bend. with a vulcanised rubber layer under the fabric. They rust out and the felt disintegrates. One of those annoyingly nla parts.

Walloth has the rubber though. Somewhere I found a taller felt brush and snipped the perimeter so it would follow the bend and then just riveted it in place.
