A while back I posted a note about my attempts to determine the exact factory location of the 3.0 CSL badging for my car. For a variety of reasons my original holes were filled when I had the decklid repainted and I wanted to make sure that I got the location right, because you only get one shot to drill the holes. At the time someone, maybe Gerrit, maybe Yannick, maybe Dan K, sent me an email with the distance of the "L" from the right edge of the decklid, the distance between the two badges, and the distance between the bottom lip of the decklid and the bottom of the badges. I promptly saved it someplace very important and safe, and now I cannot find it. I am a knuckledhead.

If the original sender of that information remembers doing so and still has it handy, I'd be most grateful if you'd help me by resending it.

Thanks in advance.

CSL trunk lid badges

Here you go, knucklehead:

Distance from bottom of trunk lid to bottom of badges = 14mm

Distance between "0" and "C" = 20mm

Distance from end of "L" to edge of trunk at bottom of L = 29mm

Now, don't lose 'em again ;)

2800CS badges

I'm having the same problem. Does anyone have this information for the 2800CS badges?
The distance from the "S" to the right edge of the decklid, the distances between the "C" and the "S" and between the "2800" and the "C", and the distance between the bottom lip of the decklid and the bottom of the badges.

For those who discern.

Was "Automatic" badge placement standardized, or did it evolve between models, body shops and owners. Always assumed trunk/boot badging was reserved for the right corner. But maybe . . . not.

^^^^^ Thanks for the automatic clarification. ;) The badge placement conforms to early versus later type 114 models, too.

(Not sure whether that explains the the tii badge once observed on an E9.)
