Does any E9 owner want to do me a favour and go and knock on this blokes P.O. Box.

P.O. Box 2168, Land O' Lakes, FL 34639-2168 USA .

I have not heard from Kevin since the day he asked for $279.95 to be paid by credit card.

Here is the timeline of my dealings.

16 Aug. Asked Kevin for a price to supply and deliver 3.0 M30 Teflon crank scraper.

17 Aug. Kevin quoted $279.55 for the crank scraper and prioity insured shipping.

17 Aug. Said he only accepted credit cards.

17 Aug. I paid $279.55 by credit card.

19 Aug. Kevin receives my Visa payment.

26 Sept. I enquired when my order would be ready.

7 Oct. I again asked when I could expect my order and also said unless I heard from him in 5 working days I would post a bad report on this forum.

4 Oct. no email to date.

Regards Dave.

I would suggest that you get hold of your cc company and reverse payment. You only have so long to back charge, usually 65 days from initial billing(in US).

Would love to help, but I am 3 hours away, and I am not aware of any coupers in that part of Florida.
Seems odd--seems like a legit business from their website.

No answer to phone messages.

Latest update.

I have left two messages on their answering machine, still no communication.

I have found that Oz Banks do have a system to investigate situations like mine and I have 120 days from the transaction date to implement.

The problem is I really want my scraper not the money.

If I hadn't heard from someone since August and sent more than two emails to acknowledge the request, I'd cancel and find another Scraper specialist.

Sounds like you may have rattled their cage and I hope it works out for you.
Not to steal the topic/pody, but I have to ask a question.
What is a crank scrapper????
As a non mechanic, but mech inclined I would assume it has something to do with the crank and removing oil. But I really don't know, just a guess.
Inquiring minds want to know!

Looks one needs to open the engine to install it, so I am not about to try.
Turns out that heating a liquid cause convection where the fluid goes up at the edges and down at the center, but rotation of a fluid makes it go to the center at the bottom and up at the center per Einstein's tea leaf paradox.

Until I see an M30 made out of glass I have no clue what the oil is doing while I drive. I did hear anecdotes about people destroying engines going in tight circles for minutes like when you drive down these multi-level parking lots with spiral ramps. This gadget would also help for that.

Please do not post to this thread with other matters

I have asked Kevin Johnson to watch this page so he can see what bad publicity he is receiving on this form and hope he might realise the damage he is doing to his business and maybe force his hand to compete my transaction.

Latest update.

No tracking details as yet.

Emailed Kevin to ask where the tracking details are.

Cheers Dave from Downunder

We have lift off, number 2 !!

I received an email this evening with two attachments, one a picture of my crank scraper and another of my paid shipping documents for shipping later today.

This whole time wasting and money spent on phone calls would never have happened if Kevin had conducted himself in a business like manner by answering my emails and doing what he said he would and also when he said he would.

All's well that end's well they say but I won't believe it untill the scraper is in my hot little hands.

Cheers Dave from Downunder.

I am attaching a picture of your scraper. Unfortunately I can see that the interior cut is translated over with respect to the stud holes. I think the doors and clamping plate are ok but the scraper body and work on it is scrap. I will not send it out like this. I already remade the clamping plate once thinking it might have been that. I had hoped to ship out three other sets to customers this evening but pursuing this put me past the shipping deadline. Just keeping you updated.

Hi,

I just looked at the forum again. I think the most business-like resolution is for me to simply refund your money, which I have just done.

I have a lot of work to get done here. Thank you for considering my products and good luck with your project.

Sincerely,

K.L. Johnson

End of emails.

All I wanted from day one was my crank scraper.

Cheers for Dave Downunder.

It looks like this dispute has been resolved (ended), but I wanted to post an email message I received from Kevin Johnson instead of requiring him to create an account. He sent this to me before the latest post above but I didn't get to it right away....

Dan

-----------------

Hi Dan,

I am not sure if my note on the website went through. This is in
regards to the post about Kevin Johnson (that's me). In your posting
guidelines you ask that only parties to the dispute post. I am not
able to do that.

Please, if you could, post that Dave Campbell's money has been fully
refunded to him (Dave from Down-under). I first sent him an email
explaining that I could not ship his completed scraper yesterday
evening due to a fault in the construction. I will not ship a part
like this. The picture is attached with his shipping documents
underneath. Then I read his further posts and decided that it would be
best to simply return his money. His last post (thus far) makes it
seem like the dispute is still open, which it is not. He has been
notified of this refund.

Last week I received an email from a BMW racer in Europe that has been
using one of our scrapers for five years and is very happy with it.
He is setting up another car and asked if we made a pattern for it. I
did not have that engine yet and so located a local core which I am
picking up this weekend. The amount of money that I am spending on
the core -- ignoring the time to design and fabricate the scraper --
far exceeds what I charge. I do this in the hope that future racers
will need the same product. I have done this for hundreds of
different engines over the past ten years now. I try to support
customers as best I can but I am a one-man show.

Kind regards,

Kevin

You don't get too many chances to correct a tarnished reputation. I hope the Vendor remits a refund payment ASAP.

No refund

I am sorry to report that this matter is not closed because the money has not been placed in my account.

Since my last post I have been looking on the net and found out that this not the first time that Ishihara Kevin Johnson has kept the money and not delivered a crank scraper to someone from Australia.

I have emailed Ishihara Kevin Johnson and given him to the end of this week to deposit the money, after that I will instruct my bank to instigate proceedings to recover the money.

All I wanted was my scraper, now all I want is my money.

Dave from Downunder.

Thank you, Dan, for allowing me to address this issue directly.

Mr. Campbell first contacted me on Friday, May 6th 2011 and asked for a quote on a Teflon M30 crankscraper and shipping cost to his postal code in Australia. He also asked whether I accept Paypal.

On Monday, May 9th I replied with the costs and said that we unfortunately do not accept Paypal but that credit cards are fine and that I would need to know the stroke of the scraper.

Mr. Campbell used his @iprimus.com.au email account for these emails.

More than three months later, on Wed, 17 Aug 2011 at 19:41:03 he contacted me again asking the same questions but adding that he needed a 3.0 scraper.

Mr. Campbell used his @gmail.com account for these subsequent emails.

I had earlier generation patterns and cutting files for the M30 3.0 Teflon but these needed to be updated to the latest generation of design. It takes longer to do this than to make the scraper. I always do this rather than supply a customer with an outdated design. It eats up a lot of my time since I have thousands of designs for hundreds of engines that are constantly being updated.

After following the string of posts here from Mr. Campbell I decided the best course of action would be to simply refund his money in full. This was done on October 26th. The corresponding merchant receipts were scanned and the image is attached. Mr. Campbell's account information is obscured save for the last four digits.

I have no idea why Mr. Campbell's bank has not released his funds to him. It is possible that the US Dollars were converted back into Australian Dollars at a slightly different conversion factor and this yielded a different amount that was not readily recognized. This is a matter for Mr. Campbell to take up with his bank. My merchant account provider offered to do a three-way telephone call with his bank and myself but it was after 22:00 hours and the bank merchant service in Australia was closed for the evening.

I apologize to the forum that Mr. Campbell apparently joined simply to complain and then attack me. I enjoy designing and making parts for engines. Several years ago the amount of work expanded to consume all my time. If I didn't update the products I suspect I would be just fine. That is just not me, though.

Kevin

My apologies, the money is in my account

I apologise for the mix up at this end.

I have contacted my bank and yes the money was in there all the time but a different amount as Kevin suggested and because of the time difference sooner than they thought it would be deposited.

A few last words on this whole sorry saga, I did not join to denigrate Kevin,I have been a member since I purchased my E9 4 years ago.

This year I lost my login info and changed my email address at the same time so had to sign up again.

Hopefully what we get out of this saga is that the whole world needs more communication, then, maybe we might have fewer conflicts.

Regards Dave from Downunder.
