The CS is looking a little less stellar than Athena at the moment. We removed the subframes today.

Barney had an old 02 front subframe. I tore it apart and we'll use the main structure for the front chassis dolly (early Coupes share same front subframes as the 2002). We'll fabricate the rear dolly from square tubing.

Great work Ed, can you fit an M30 engine, 5 speed in there?

Anything could be made to fit, I suppose. If this car wasn't so nice, I may be tempted to swap the powertrain. As it is, the engine is pretty fresh with a worked-over 121ti head; I'll add some 45DCOEs and a header to it. As for the 5 speed, there is lots of room and I plan to swap an OD unit in. A CR box would be "cooler" but cost/benefit has me leaning towards a standard OD box from a 320i...which I already have in the stash. Should be a very simple swap.

The plan is for a build that is essentially stock with period correct, bolt-on, tasteful upgrades.
