Side window metal trim on a 2800cs

What should I use to re connect the Crome window trim that sits in the top of my side window glass?

I thought about the same thing on my car.

Was gonna use a wee bit of 3M gasket adhesive just at the window edge - don't know if it's the right thing though?

Gently pinch it to create an interference fit.
