I picked up a Verona red 1970 2800CS about eight years ago. It had been in a friend's family since about 1972. When his grandfather passed, they decided to part with the car. It's in excellent cosmetic shape with minimal rust issues (southern car). I initially got quite a bit of work done, but had to take a break from wrenching while in grad school. Finally have a bit of time to work on the car and my own garage :).

Fixed so far:
- Bilstein's with Bimmerdoc's springs
- New clutch master/slave with an updated bellhousing
- New clutch/PP/bearings
- Resealed the gearbox
- All new hoses (water and gas) and fuel filter
- New fuel pump
- New T-stat and bleeder housing
- All new fluids

Things not working:
- One of the carbs is not working. No fuel coming out of the jet. I'm guessing an old piece of hose embolized to the carb when I was replacing the hoses.
- Parking brake
- Torn CV joint boots
- Electric windows
- Passenger door lock

Had the opportunity to visit the BMW museum in Munich fairly recently:

Matching outfit, no?

And can't forget the daily driver. Not a BMW but quite fun nonetheless:

Thanks for all the advice I've gotten so far!

I'd love to know what BMW did to this 320 Turbo's finish. I saw several of their race cars and Art Cars at Laguna Seca during Oktoberfest and they almost looked like they were made of plastic. I don't know if it is multiple coats of clear to preserve the graphics, but it's a strange look when you're up close. Congratulations on the CS. It looks like a great car.
