Dimmer Switch Dilemma

Hi All,

My dimmer switch on my '73 Bavaria broke, leaving the lights on all of the time. I was wondering if these are repairable (with a little creativity, of course!) or if there is a switch from another model (think junkyard) that might temporarily work whille I source a working one?

Thanks,

Scott C.

Please describe broke...
is the backplate loose? you can re-crimp it(the tabs) tightening should make it work, I have had this.
is the backplate off with innards out?
is the stem broke

I need to go look, actually. But, as I remember, the lever is intact, but somewaht loose inside. The halves are solidly crimped together still. Prior to this, it would take a slight wiggle to turn off the lights when it would stick on.

I think I am going to see if I can pull it apart and find out what the problem is. I may actually still have one from a 2002 I owned years ago...
