Removed the dash today , or rather my friend did . Had to take out air con and heater unit at the same time . Not saying everyone has to but we did .

What if anything should I be doing to these parts while they are out and what if anything should I be doing to the rest of the car with all this out .

Also I have noticed when some people have the dash re-veneered they fill the speaker grille . As I won't need it for a speaker should I fill it when veneering, thoughts on the look with or without grille.

Once again many thanks
Paul

I think the speaker grille in wood is one of the things that makes an E9.
Very odd and very E9 :)

Well, just to cast the dissenting vote, here are some photos from my coupe's recent restoration.

I think it's to taste. If you're going for a full period look, I'd leave the grill. Since I am not, I removed it and replaced with two period VDO gauges. I've seen a modern LCD screen in place of the grill - not to my taste, but to each his own.

keep it

keep the grill and use it the way it was intended - makes best possible place for center channel for stereo.

Leave the grill, here are a few options for some nice gauge holders:

I still have a few of them on stock:

20€ each + shipping (7€ / United States, for example)
