didnt even hook up the main relay
he just bypassed it

THANKS for your interest, i have a new date with the tuner on the 12th. i was able to wire up the new links unit , and have to use the batch system for the injectors so i had to rewire and add a
ignitor for the coil. also i changed the oxg sensor and guage so had to pull the ac plate apart again. to rewire. so betwwen now and then i have to put it all back together
and clean everything all up . aslo need to verify where i routed all the sensors to the unit. i am trying to install the sunroof , yet the new cables are very tight and im concerned they wont move easily enuff.
yikes. so i was thinkin i may have to burn all the felt from them so they can slide easier---- not quite sure yet.
also the paint gut messed up the top of the fenders so i will have to try and find someone that can just paint the top to the belt line -
AND THEN BLEND THE CLEAR -on my gosh. not something i look forward too.
so maybe this weekend i will verify all above and then post back the progress.
its kindof been sitting cauce i have so many new homes to complete.
but i do need to get back on it.

so figured on a simple sunroof installation YYYYYa right!!!
what a monster.. after 6 hrs . of solving problems. it kept getting stuck when going back and was so bad i had to pull all the trim to get it out
it seems the sheet metal that the rear runner sits on was pushed up just a bit to raise hell. also the cover was slightly bent in the front so it wouldnt let the roof go by.
anyway got everything squared up and alinged so i can set the sliders tomorrow.
i finally set the roof in first the slid in the cover afterward. so once thats done ill get all the interior back in place to get ready for next monday
okeedokee.

i dont know what it is but everything seems to be a bit of a chore to make work
so i got the sunroof in
yet
the front rail runners wont let the cover go past them - .
its a small horseshoe on the rail and the cover slides there also -under neath the bottom guide .
but it makes the cover too tight too slide
even if i could get it passed it to snap into the roof
what am i doing wrong
any help would be appreciated

Let me know if you need me to snap any sunroof pics Alan. Mine is manual and assembled but I'm happy to help. I don't have a headliner on the sunroof panel though.

HAD TO PUT OFF THE TUNING FOR THREE WEEKS TO GET ALL OF THE TRIM BACK TOGETHER AND SOLVE THE SUNROOF COVER ISSUE
I THINK ILL REMOVE IT AND TRIM THE HEADLINER MATERIAL WHERE THE GUIDE IS AND THEN SLIDE IT BACK TOGETHER.
HOPEFULLY THAT WILL GIVE ENUFF CLEARANCE FOR IT TO SLIDE WITH THE ROOF

WAS ABLE TO RESCHEDULE THE ENGINE START TILL JULY 17
AND ONE OF MY FRIEND .CLIENTS HAS A AUTO TRAILER
SO HE OFFERED TO TOW MY CAR TO AND FROM THE TUNER.
FARRROUT. SAVED MY 800.00 AND A LOT OF HASSLE.
most likey the thickness of the replacement headliner is a lot thicker causing the non slide over bracket issue.
so im going to remove as much as possible to still secure it to the cover and still provide clearance to slide w/ the roof
in the thin groove
will post on solution progress.

Allan, You are definitely going to be able play expert on TV by the time your car is done.

We all know the joy of finally getting something right. My son after 26 years is just understanding it doesn't matter if the money you save doing it yourself is sometimes spent 3times over learning to do it right.
Perseverance furthers.

Edit:after all the business you have given them....a return label? Policy, policy?

I suppose one benefit of having an s38 is that it makes all other engine work seem like child's play.

Almost all engines anyway... Still not as bad as an audi:
