THE OVERVIEW
Offered for an appreciating new owner is this rare collectible classic 1974 BMW Bavaria sedan! INCLUDES FREE $850 BMW FOLDING MOUNTAIN BICYCLE WITH BUY-IT-NOW PURCHASE! Refinished in midnight blue metallic over navy blue interior, this TWO-OWNER 99.9% RUST-FREE E3-chassis sedan shows just over 69,000 miles which is actually 169,200 miles on the working five-digit odometer. Purchased in 2001 from the original owner who bought it new here locally in San Jose, this car comes with clear California title, current registration and a file with nearly all maintenance records since new! With that said, this Bavaria sports an updated circa 1988 3.5 liter inline six cylinder engine with triple Webber carbs mated to a 5 speed manual overdrive transmission. It features COLD AIR CONDITIONING, your coice of either 16" or 17" Racing Dynamics 5 spoke alloy wheels with excellent rubber, period-correct am/fm stereo cassette, custom pedals, hard-wired radar detector, rear wood Momo steering wheel, fog lamps, beautiful FULL original trunk-mounted tool kit AND a smattering of extra parts. This is a really cool classic offered here for about the cost of the sales tax alone on a new BMW 5 series! THE BODY AND TRIM
As I hope is articulated in the many photos here, the body and trim of this 1974 BMW are in GOOD TO VERY GOOD 99.9% RUST-FREE OVERALL CONDITION! I would rate the exterior of this car a solid "7.5" on a scale of 1-10. The repaint [originally Chamonix white] shines nicely with a few blemishes and rock nicking This is a structurally very RUST-FREE example with very good shock towers and solid floor pans. The trunk is in very good condition with original gray elephant skin panels and superb original tool kit and side caddy. You can choose from either set of 16 or 17" Racing Dynamics wheels. I prefer slightly the size of the 16s though they could use a more "shiny" refinish. Either way I have all four center caps. All of the glass is good along with the factory vents, bumpers and lights with the nice under bumper fog lamps.

THE INTERIOR
The interior of this little classic Bavaria is in QUITE GOOD CONDITION overall. The carpeting is in very good original condition, the seat upholstery is also VERY good as is the factory wood trim. The stereo powers up but sound is sketchy, the five-digit odometer works as do all other gauges, controls and functions. The just recharged blows cold though the fan is noisy, the heat works well. The car comes with a hard-wired functional radar detector, manual crank windows [a good thing actually], nice Momo wood steering wheel, custom pedal overlays and more!

THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE
This Bavaria runs and drives very well! The engine is has excellent power with a fabulous intake growl [with a slight valve lash sound], the transmission up and downshifts well and the steering is very tight and responsive. The braking is strong and straight with excellent pedal feel and the suspension with Bilstein shocks is very tight free of any clunks or rattles. This stately classic near 40 year-old sedan is quite a joy to drive down the open road cruising in fifth gear with its throaty triple Webber carbs and its open airy ****pit!

Nice car. Does it qualify as a daily driver? Can I drive it home here to Texas without any worries?

Is it advertised anywhere else?
