Hey guys. Been a BMW guy since '89, having owned (in order) a '76 2002, '72 2002 parts car, '91 318is, '00 740i sport, '90 325is, '87 325is w/m30/e30m3 suspension (I miss it). My daily is a '91 318is slick-top.

I bought a '70 2800CS in May14 and haven't been able to get it running. It came with a Frankenstein engine ('81 dirty m30b35 bottom end w/questionable head), 265 tranny and Stahl headers. It's a resto project that will take a while.

Growing weary of chasing the problem, I bought a running (even passed emissions) '85 euro 535i as an engine donor. Now it's time to plan the late fall/winter project of r/r from the donor and install to the coupe.

This forum has been very helpful in my research. Thanks for what you do for the community. I'll post pics when I figure out how to compress the files.

There really is no 1981 b35 engine- that would have likely been a m90 engine.
B35 came out in 1988 in the USA.
Where are you located?

Thanks for the correction. The engine code is 7407837, which yields 11/81 euro e23 735i in realoem. M90 would be cool to have...will post once I break it down. I'm in DC.

That's the coveted m90 rated at 218 hp...... Jetronic
Almost 40 hp more than a US coupe.
Your new engine is the 10:1 compression euro engine rated at 218 hp.... Motronic
Lucky dog.
