Megasquirt

In the process of completing installation on 2002, latest issue is the O2 sensor wiring, can't wait to hear it run

Make very sure the MS box and O2 sensor share the same ground.

5 wires?
MS uses 2
O2 Ground and signal
Wide band uses 3
Ground, batt + and signal

Decent gauge brown wire from same source as main brown wire to MS unit feeds
ground to wide band.

Don (or anyone else), you may be able to help?

While everything seems to be working really well, the last small issue we have is the O2 sensor as well. Problem is it keeps dropping in temp and switches into warm up mode etc etc.
I have put this as close to the engine as possible just after the last collector in the main exh pipe but we think its just to cold there.
To get it any closer I would have to run either 1 sensor on 3 cyls only or 2 sensors, 1 on each bank of 3 cyl.

What is you experience with this?

Steve

I run all my cars on 1 bank only right at the side of the tranny. Never a problem.
What brand and model?

Megasquirt best upgrade

Folks, aside from Don's fabulous engine transplant in my E9 (high compression B34 with piano pistons) many years ago, Megasquirt has been the best upgrade I've done. No more AFM hassles, Motronic inflexbility with upgrades like larger, free flow exhaust, etc.

Although I still feel "not worthy" against triple carb E9s, the improvements in power, driveability, etc. are simply astounding.

Plus it's fun to program it or let Autotune do the fine tuning.

+1 to what Wayne said...but I call it Type 2 fun...its not always fun to tune it but generally fun afterwards when you are done.
