Default D-Jet Distributor Question

I am in the process of converting my 74 CS to D-Jet, and I noticed that the distributor that came with the D-Jet system has, apparently, a vacuum retard instead of a vacuum advance. Is this right? I want to convert my car in phases while continuing to drive it (i.e. running carbs with the D-Jet distributor. ) If that is possible, could someone help me understand where the vacuum line would connect to the carb manifold? Thanks.

Thanks...seeing the picture answers a lot of questions...it is a vacuum retard distributor, isn't it?
