I’m just finding the bearings, seals, etc, from separate places..slower, but I have time..lol. Also thought I had a Haynes manual, but can’t find it anywhere..ugh..I did find this online and just arrived..looks pretty good.

Question: Is there a kit or part numbers for the differential? I was planning on at least replacing seals and whatnot. Maybe bearings, too?...I have new boots coming and will be pulling it completely apart, once I can get the grime cleaned off of it.

Yeah, Avus is too dark for me. Honestly, I think I'm leaning more towards Arles Blue from Land Rover, as long as it doesn't change as bad in shade as Riviera...I just don't want metallic for several reasons and I'm just not seeing a solid BMW color that's getting me. I still have a few months...

Oh wow, that’s gorgeous. I may have to get a half pint to see how it looks..I was hoping to avoid spraying a metallic, since I’ll be painting some parts separately..that makes it near impossible to match..but that is sweeet looking

I do love Pastellblau on the 02s...I feel like it's too light for a Bavaria, though.. I wish I could find a color I could keep my blue interior, as it's in great shape..I wonder how blue seats with black carpet would look?

Decided to make a new idler arm bushing with Delrin instead of rubber..should tighten up the steering a bit.

I’m still happy to jar some fillings loose..:-) I’ll have to pick up the big sway bars, too.. I have new bilsteins and lowering springs on the way..

Yeah, I looked at my mounts and they’re tapered so I wouldn’t be able to make them for that curved shape anyway..and they’d be sooo harsh.

Now I'm looking at the rear subframe supports. I only see oem at over $100/ea, and still rubber, or Ireland urethane (out of stock) for $200/pair. Would it be crazy to just make delrin bushings for those or would that make the rear end too rough riding/noise transmitting? Thoughts? I can make...

I do love most of the early BMW blues, as well. I just wish Riviera didn't darken sooo much in the shade. It almost looks purple. In the sun it's stunning. I also love tan or tobacco interior. My old 1600 was tobacco...such a nice color.

Here's the idler arm. I think I'll make a two piece Delrin bushing to fit the existing unit. I pressed out the center of the old one and cleaned off the center steel sleeve to reuse. Could be fun to make those pieces quick..

I definitely like Sikkens, I've used it, I believe, in the past..but paint has gotten insanely expensive lately, so I have to factor that in, too. What I used to shoot for $400-$600 is now $1200+...it's crazy..
