    Pull Up a Seat

Hi Bill, Sorry this is sideways. If helpful, I could send these as a Mac or Word document and you could print them. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, Jim

    Pull Up a Seat

Hi Bill, Sorry for the tardy response. We escaped Wisconsin for a warmer latitude and I wasn't paying attention. I sketched a pattern for the brackets and a talented fabricator friend made them. They are essentially the same design as found on Scheel brackets with about two inches of vertical...

Fresh Air Box Seals & Windshield Gaskets

BMW Classic response: Hello Jim, sorry for my late response. I am very busy. We checked your request in the meantime. It will be way to expensive the reproduce this part. You have to look in the free market unfortunately. Sorry for the inconvenience. Best Regards, J*** Classically pathetic....

    BBS wheel size

It was made by CR Racing https://www.crracing.com in Indianapolis. I sent them the original and they duplicated the inlet/outlet/overflow and mounting plates. It's a generous two row, which means that the stock fan no longer fits. I knew that going in, however, and since a fan robs a bit of...

    BBS wheel size

Now I'll have to go wipe it off...:) You're too kind. Verona cars have to be photographed in the shade or else the glare is blinding (:->)

    BBS wheel size

Thank you, Scott. Just using the shortened springs in front still left a larger fender gap than the rear but (since I'm anal) I was able to make the necessary adjustment with struts from Jeff Tighe.

    BBS wheel size

I had a set of RS wheels made for the e3 in the same dimensions as my set of Alpinas. They're 16x7 - ET 11 up front and 16x8 ET 24 in the rear. Tire sizes are 205/55 and 225/50. The rear is lowered +/- 1" and the front +/- 1.5" with adjustable struts. Other than being careful at steep driveway...

    Under Hood Sound Insulation

The original three piece sound insulation for e3 is NLA from BMW but I recently came across a fellow BMW guy in Texas who has sourced material which is a near perfect match. He had patterns for 2002, CS and others but not e3, so we worked together to come up with one. I have to add my wife to...

    Hood Brace

Yup I did...with help from some talented friends. A project which started out as a simple engine rebuild turned into several years and far more than originally envisioned.

    Hood Brace

Well, there's this epistle about the car...https://e9coupe.com/forum/threads/another-milwaukee-e3.18499/ or I can post photos of the close-up shots you need...let me know.

    Hood Brace

Thanks, Peter. They are TWM (now bought out by Borla) ITB's on a triple side draft manifold.

    Hood Brace

Thanks, Chris. Done. I found a near perfect match for the factory insulation and needed full access for the install.

    Hood Brace

I'm wishing to remove the transverse torsion rod tube beneath the hood which connects to the two folding hood braces. It appears to be held in place by two 10mm screws at each end. It looks to be a simple remove and replace, but I thought I'd double check to be sure. Anyone removed this piece...

Fresh Air Box Seals & Windshield Gaskets

Here's an image of mine. I currently have a seal only on the front edge, but the required piece seals the front, short ends and then the edge just ahead of the windshield. I have tried several aftermarket varieties for the rear and sides but cannot find just the right height. My test of proper...

Fresh Air Box Seals & Windshield Gaskets

That's not an accurate rendition of what it actually looks like, but I have the factory parts book(s) and that is the image shown there as well. My recollection of the original is that it was one rectangular piece surrounding the box around the fresh air intake.

Fresh Air Box Seals & Windshield Gaskets

Yup, I hear ya Chris. They sent a large contingent to Florida, and though I know that's a minuscule investment for BMW AG, I thought why not ask... If they can't deliver, I'm not at all opposed to giving them an earful of "Are you going to support us or not"?

Fresh Air Box Seals & Windshield Gaskets

;) I don't hold my breath for anything. Can't get a result iffen I don't give it a try, eh?

Fresh Air Box Seals & Windshield Gaskets

Thanks, Scott, but that's not the seal I'm seeking. It is the under hood rubber which seals the fresh air intake box from the engine compartment. e3's and e9's are not the same.

Fresh Air Box Seals & Windshield Gaskets

While attending the Amelia Island Concours this past weekend I spoke with a representative of BMW Group Classic from Munich. I related to her the need (at least my own) for the rectangular under hood seal for the fresh air box and the desire of many to obtain a windshield seal. She made notes of...
