WTB nice Bavaria

A friend of mine wants to give his dad a Bavaria, he used to own one back in the day and would like to surprise him with another. Looking for a very nice condition, '73 or earlier, a/c, with auto transmission (yes that's right, his dad would prefer that).

Any tips appreciated. Thanks.

That one has been for sale for well over a year. I wonder that's wrong with it? It seems pretty easy to find clapped out E3's. IMO, the nice ones are more rare than coupes unfortunately.

Okay the only two on hemmings:

The 3.0L or 3.0 LI are the ones to get, but you have to pay to play. Perhaps OCCoupe knows what the market rate is on the 3.0L since he bought one about a year ago. Factor in another $2-3K to get it over here. Maybe talk to Ivo (Ovide), who is probably stateside right now.

So far the Canada car is my favorite North american car. If you can pick it up and do a road trip getting it into the US isn't that much of a hassle as long as you aren't on Trump's watch list. Talk to your local border patrol (seriously).
