Bert,

Are these an upgrade from standard CSI calipers or are they the same? Thanks!

I believe the E9s have vented front rotors and solid rears. The early euro E24 calipers allow for larger vented rotors in the front and vented rotors in the rear that are larger than the solid rotors. I also believe, correct me if I am wrong that the rotors are larger as well as wider from the early E24s. The E9 calipers will not accept the larger rotors in the front nor vented rotors in the rear. The calipers are a direct bolt on to the E9s. There are many posts on the internet dealing with size and use of these calipers for an E9 many of which came from this site over the years. All have been favorable to this conversion.

3.0CS has vented rotors front and rear, 2800CS solid front discs and drums in rear, e3 solid rotors front and rear.

Vented fronts are 272x22, early e24 280x22 so same width, Rears 3.0CS and early e24 both 272x19 so only front is marginally larger.

2800, 3.0S And 3.0Si Bav 272x12 solid front, 272x10 solid rear.

And a pic for posterity....
633, 3.0cs and 2800
Note the 633 calipers are about 5mm larger than 3.0cs calipers so they use different clips and pins

Opening measurements are:
62.3
57.7
48.5
