Front
and Rear Windows:
The
front and rear window frames are one of those areas that
can have rust problems without any visible signs from the
outside. The car pictured below looked fairly nice up until
the rear window actually fell out! The entire rear sheet
metal section of this frame had to be replaced with a solid
used piece.
Most
of the water and moisture that causes the problem in this
area comes from above. Dirt is probably the worse enemy,
getting caught between the frame and rubber seal and holding
moisture. It can also be hard to check this area for rust
since the rubber gaskets tend to get less plyable with age
and can't be lifted up without cracking.
Although
always a concern with coupes, these areas are usually not
as problematic as others.
